On Saturday, December 6, more than 1,700 teddy bears were tossed onto the ice at PPL Center for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms first annual Teddy Bear Toss. Thanks so much to all of you to came out to support this wonderful event! This week we got to participate in the official presentation of the the bears to Valley Youth House, who will be distributing all the donated bears to children in need this holiday season.
Phantoms mascot meLVin is ready to get this show on the road.
The sheer number of stuffed animals was impressive to see, and some really big bears were donated! The Phantoms' "Fanboni" and meLVin's four-wheeler were loaded up to bring all the toys into the stadium.
"It's ok that I'm texting, the bear is driving."
And here's the whole group for the big presentation! From left to right, they are: Phantoms mascot meLVin, Kevin Harayda (Dan's co-owner), Christina Shoemaker (Director of Development at Valley Youth House), Phantoms players Kevin Goumas, Steve Delisile, and Brett Hextall, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, and Annette Duranso, CEO and President of Valley Youth House.
Valley Youth House helps at-risk youth and their families to become healthy, productive, responsible members of the community. Dan's Camera City is a proud partner of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and we're thrilled to be part of this event that benefits a local charity with such an important mission.
