Historic Easton Cemetery
Picturing the Past: Landscape, History, and Storytelling
Sunday, September 28 - Join us for a guided photo walk at the Historic Easton Cemetery, founded in 1849 and spanning 84 acres of rolling hills full of large trees and sculptural monuments that invite photographic exploration.
We'll explore the cemetery and its ties to Easton history with our cameras. Along the way we'll discuss camera & photo tips and techniques to get great photos in this amazing location. We'll even take a look at some Easton photographers from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
At this workshop you'll learn about:
- Making a plan for your visit to a new location
- Camera settings to consider, and sharp focus for landscape photos
- Watching the light and finding the best angles
- Choosing the right lens for the story you're trying to tell
- Using a polarizing filter to punch up contrast, or manage difficult light
We're offering this special photo walk in partnership with the Friends of the Historic Easton Cemetery as part of the Lehigh Valley Passport to History weekend, and a portion of all ticket sales will go to their organization.
