With a little planning in advance, you can make creating your Photo Book a simple project.
How Many Photos?
Plan on using about 4 photos per page for the Coffee Table Books. That will give you a variety of sizes on each page and will add a bit of pizazz. You should also select one horizontal photo for the first page of the album, which will show through the window in the cover of the 8½×11 book (there’s no window on our 12×12 books).
The more photos you have on a page, the smaller the photos will appear. For the best results, try to stay under 200 photos for your project.
Getting Your Pictures Ready
Once you've picked out your pictures, a USB flash drive is the easiest way to bring in all the photos for your project. Just select your photos and drag them to the flash drive. To make sure it works well with our ordering system, don't put anything on there other than your photos! You can also burn the pictures to a CD or DVD, or copy them to a memory card. Flash drives, CDs, DVDs, and memory cards are all available to purchase at Dan’s.
Don’t crop your photos at home!
Our kiosks will let you crop and adjust each photo while you’re working on your project. Using the uncropped original photo gives you more options and flexibility. Rotating your images to the proper orientation (horizontal or vertical) ahead of time will be a time saver.
Planning Your Captions, Titles, & Notes
Prepare anything you want to write in the book ahead of time, even if you just jot down a few notes. That way you'll already know what you want to say.
Once you complete your album, but before you submit the order, review it for any typographical errors. Unfortunately, our system doesn't let us make corrections to the text in your project, so be sure to proofread carefully!
Ordering Your Photo Book
Featuring a huge collection of new backgrounds, layouts & embellishments.
- Add, move, and re-size pictures & text anywhere on the page.
- Create an account so you can save your project and come back to it later, so you don’t have to finish it all at once.
- Add pictures from your computer, your Dan’s account, or Facebook.
A Few Notes About Ordering Online: The project templates on the kiosks in our store are different from those available online. If you have seen a specific template in the store, that doesn't necessarily mean you will find it on our website and vice versa.
If you create your book online, please be aware that the text comes to us in a fixed format. That means we won’t be able to fix any typing errors.
If you want to save a project and come back to it later, you must create an account. Otherwise, there's nowhere to save your project, and it will disappear when you close your browser window.
