When do I place my picture order online?
- Fall Photos:
Online ordering will be available as soon as you receive your School Code from your student's teacher. Orders will be accepted until 4 days after your school's scheduled picture day. Ordering before picture day is recommended.
- Spring Photos:
Online ordering begins once you receive your student’s proof sheet with their Student Code. Proof sheets are delivered about two weeks after picture day and orders are due by the day listed on your proof sheet.

I have more than one student, can I combine orders?
- Fall Photos: NO -
All orders must be placed and paid for separately to ensure that a student's portrait order is delivered to the correct classroom. Please use the School Code given to each student when ordering. If your students attend different schools each school will have its own specific School Code. Using the wrong School Code can result in your order not being delivered to the school.
- Spring Photos: YES -
Orders of students who attend the same school can be combined.
Each student gets a personalized Student Code on their proof sheet and you can use the “add a student” button when ordering.
- Note:
There is no way to combine multiple students into one package.
Are proof images available for Fall photos?
- Fall photos do not operate on a proof ordering system. Fall photos are available for pre-order online before picture day.
- Four days after picture day, online ordering is closed while we print the orders. All students with no orders will get a reminder card sent to the school with a small photo and a personalized Student Code to use for placing a late order. These are delivered with the printed orders sent to the school. The ordering window will then reopen for the remainder of the school year.
- Late orders are not returned to the school, they must be picked up at our store or shipped to your home.
Can I still place an order for photos after the original picture day ordering has closed?
- Yes, you can place a late photo order. Ordering is closed while we print the orders, but it will reopen when we deliver the original orders back to the school.
- Any student who did not place an order will receive a reminder card with a specific Student Code that will be delivered to the school with the original picture day orders. You will then be able to place a late order using your Student Code.
- Late orders are not delivered back to the school and you will need to choose either to pick them up at Dan's Camera City in Allentown at no additional charge, or have them mailed to you for an additional shipping fee.
What is the process for FALL makeup day?
- If your student missed picture day and you already placed an order, we will hold the order until their photo is taken on the makeup day. Makeup day fliers will be sent to the school when we deliver the photo orders from picture day.
- If your student missed picture day and you did not place an order,
the school will be sending home information on how to place your pre-order for makeup day using the School Code.
- My student got their package, but we want it redone.
There is no need to place an additional order for a retake photo. Simply send the complete original package back with your student on makeup day and have them give it to the photographer
when they have their photo retaken. Replacement packages will only be printed with the return of your original package.
What is the process for spring makeup day?
- Spring photos do not have a makeup day. It is an optional fundraiser opportunity for the school and the photos are not used for administrative purposes.
How can I get a digital file?
- All packages include a social media file. Also, some packages include a high-resolution file. You can also add a high-resolution file to your order in the a la cart section.
- Files will be automatically emailed to you to download once we begin the printing process. If you ordered retouching, a follow-up file will be manually emailed to you once we have done the edits for printing.
- If you do not receive your digital file by the time you receive your prints, please check your spam folder as they may have been flagged by your email provider.
What is the difference between a social media file and a high-resolution file?
- A social media file is only for sharing on social media such as Facebook and Twitter, or via email; it is not a file for making additional prints.
- A high-resolution file allows you to make more prints as needed up to an 8x10 size.
What is the Dan’s Rewards card that comes with my package?
- Rewards cards are not for use with school photo purchases but can be used at Dan's Camera City for other photo prints and products, such as mugs, metals, greeting cards, etc using your own files.
Can I still order pictures from last school year?
- Yes, we do still have the school photos for the previous year. However, because we are already taking photos for this school year, we have to unarchive the photos if you decide you want to place an order.
- The unarchive fee is $30 in addition to the late order prices. We will need to take the unarchive fee over the phone with a credit card. You can call us at 610-434-8450 ext 364.
- After the unarchive process, you will be given your student's code from last year to place your order at danscamera.com/pictureday.
- Please be advised that the session will only remain unarchived and available online for ordering for 30 days from your unarchive payment. After that time, orders will be subject to another unarchiving fee as the process will have to be redone before an order can be placed.
- Any items such as magnets, calendars, etc which print with a year on them will only be able to be printed with the current school year's date on them.
