A 120-Year Tradition

Oct 16, 2015

We recently had the privilege to work on a really unique project in our custom frame shop. This story was brought to Dan's by Leslie Kingston, who needed to frame photos of the last 5 women who wore a very special wedding dress. This heirloom dress has been in the family for 120 years, first worn in 1895. We worked to create a design that complemented another frame that holds the photos of the first 6 women to wear the dress.

The reason for working on this project now? Leslie's daughter Abigail will be wearing her great-great-grandmother's dress for her wedding cocktail hour on October 17th in Bucks County PA, where the framed photos of all 11 women who wore the dress will be displayed. Congratulations Abigail! And thank you Leslie for allowing us to help you celebrate your family tradition.

The story of the dress has recently been featured on several news websites, including Lehigh Valley Live. And we hear they'll also be featured on television - watch for the story on Good Morning America soon!

The "solar maximum" is letting us see the Aurora Borealis unusually far south this year. Here's how to increase your chances of seeing them here in Pennsylvania. ALERT: Strong G3-class geomagnetic storms are possible today, May 11th , when a CME is expected to hit Earth's magnetic field. During G3-class storms auroras have been sighted in the USA as far south as Oregon, Nebraska and Virginia. (via spaceweather.com )
